Government Central Heating grants - Could you be eligible? Everything  you need to know.

The First Time Central Heating initiative aims to replace old, outdated heating methods in homes with brand new, full central heating systems; improving energy efficiency and reducing energy bills. Find out everything you need to know in this article.

Why are the government funding central heating grants?

First Time Central Heating grants are part of the ECO3 scheme set up by OFGEM (Office of Gas and Electricity Markets) and the Government, with aims to reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty in the UK.

The ECO3 is the third phase of the Energy Company Obligation. This obligation requires the main energy providers in the UK to help in improving the ability of low income, fuel poor and vulnerable households to heat their homes; Therefore tackling fuel poverty and also reducing carbon emissions nationwide.

These grants cover a range of home heating and insulation measures and can be claimed by homeowners who receive a benefit. First Time Central Heating and the installation of brand new systems into homes currently without central heating is a part of this initiative.

Installing central heating to properties improves their energy efficiency, reduces heat loss and also saves on energy bills - taking steps to tackle fuel poverty as well as reduce carbon emissions.
